The following individuals have been honored by each of their state associations as being their respective REALTOR® of the Year for 2008. (from TRENDLINK, Volume 14, Issue 1, Spring 2009)

Roy Minieri - New Jersey

Roy Minieri Title: Licensed agent
Office: Prudential Fox & Roach, North Brunswick
Years in Business: 12
Service: New Jersey Board of Directors; Middlesex County Association of REALTORS® board member and
secretary / treasurer; REALTORS® Political Action Committee member
Accolades: Six-time New Jersey Association of REALTORS® Circle of Excellence Sales Award; 2008 NJAR REALTOR®-Associate of Year.

Asking Roy...
  1. Why did you select a career in real estate?
I left banking after 20 years for two national developers doing property management for residential and commercial property. That led to the natural profession to list and sell real estate.
  2. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Finding the right home for my clients and seeing them get excited about moving into it.
  3. What does this award mean to you?
These awards are special to me because it did not involve listing and selling a home. I received this award for what I did in my spare time.
  4. Any memories of your first sale or moments in the business?
Unfortunately, the first house I sold was just demolished for a larger one to be put on the site.
  5. If I weren't in real estate, I would be...
    An attorney.

Asking Guy...
  1. Why did you select a career in real estate?
I was interested in a career which provided "upside potential" from an income perspective and, at the same time, afforded me an opportunity to help others fulfill the dream of home ownership.
  2. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
Assisting clients to buy and sell homes to reach their goals and witnessing the happiness and fulfillment they experience.
  3. What does this award mean to you?
It is quite an honor to be recognized by my peers at the state level. There are countless other deserving members, who give of their time and talents for the good of all REALTORS® across the state. To be singled out and recognized for work that I enjoy and experience satisfaction is truly meaningful.
  4. Any memories of your first sale or moments in the business?
My first sale was an investment property that I purchased with a friend in 1985. We still own it today.
  5. If I weren't in real estate, I would be...
    A family physician.

  2. What is the most rewarding part of your job?
When someone calls me and tells me a friend of theirs recommended me to them because I was able to help them out.

It reminds me that I am actually doing something positive for people and my community.
  4. Any memories of your first sale?
I had a couple of rough ones to start, with my clients or the people that were on the other side. One had a stroke and another was shot. The joke around the office was not to deal with Todd.
  5. If I weren't in real estate, I would be...
A salesperson of some sort or maybe a musician, something to do with music.
