    Upcoming changes to support and billing

    As you know, we’re transitioning to Bright MLS. As part of this transition, you’ll notice changes around the beginning of April with billing and our Customer Support Center. Read on to learn more.

    New payment system to pay your bills


    We're moving to a new payment system. The new system will be within TREND—no need for a separate login and it will offer most of the features you currently have, like: the ability to pay online, save payment methods, pay by e-check, and enroll in auto-pay.

    The new portal will be used for your upcoming TREND semi-annual bills, which will be coming in April instead of March.

    Need your old bills? Print them now!


    Your previous bills paid through our current payment portal will not be available in the new system. If you need copies of these previous bills for your records, we strongly encourage you to log into the payment portal and print them or save the PDFs to your computer prior to March 30, 2017.

    New contact phone numbers for Bright Customer Support


    As part of the merger of MRIS and TREND, in April, the Rockville, MD and King of Prussia, PA support teams will become one unified Customer Support Center. This means you will have new toll-free phone numbers to contact our Customer Support Center as well as the business office.

    The old number will work for a period of time. We’ll post the new number once it's live, so you can update your information.

    I am confused. I get a listing. I put it in the MLS. I pay a fee to use the MLS. Companies in California pay a fee to extract the listings and get potential Buyers via the internet. Agents here pay large fees to said California Companies for leads. So the MLS is getting paid from both sides? And now our fees are increasing for more technology which I do not feel I need. But I assume will make it easier or better for said California Companies to get more info to get more leads to sell to Realtors in PA.... Why does the MLS not have the California Companies pay for all this new technology?

    Maybe I missed an update, but I read where the fee would gradually increase to $53/month for members who don't belong to a Realtor Assoc. As an appraiser I have not joined an association but looking at my bill it increased from (6 month period)$193 to $282. Is that correct at this time? Does that mean I should only expect an increase of $6/mo over the next 2 years. What happened to the freeze on fees for 2017?

    Just need clarification for budget planning purposes.

    As an appraiser - I regularly export/import data from the MLS into my appraisal software/reports; as changes occur - particular to data export reports (some fields are being added, other removed... while in other fields, the names being used may have changed) - there needs to be a process to make us [individual members users] aware of such changes...

    We were able to make the change Kathy requested on the Market Watch. It now displays the office name rather than the office number. I hope this helps.

    I totally agree with Kathy Kozak's comment on March 20th regarding changing Realtor Offices to strictly numbers. Reading from the one-line multitude of new Listings, Pendings, Solds, etc. we have no clue what Realtor Office is responsible for the transaction. Only way to find out is to do a one-page member, which takes forever to scroll down. Our Realtor Offices are comprised of names, not numbers!

    I sent a request to the helpdesk, but I will need a new W-9 form with the new MLS name and payment address. It would be great if you could provide a link to that on your website so all your clients could access it instead of having to request it.

    Thanks, Kristin. Here's hoping that Bright is more user friendly than the last change Trend made, even after we were told that it would be less expensive because Trend no longer had to go outside for the software. What happened? (a rhetorical question?)

    Carolyn,

    This consolidation has afforded us the opportunity to freeze licensee fees through 2017, so you won’t see an increase in that fee this year. By 2019, fees for subscribers of Bright who are members of a participating REALTOR® Association will transition to $35. Subscribers who are not members of participating REALTOR® Associations will pay a higher fee, $53 per month, after a similar gradual transition. This higher fee reflects and honors the risk and investment that participating Associations took to make Bright a reality.

    I realize you are changing systems or merging them, however, I find it most difficult to see who listed, sold, or made their listing pending with the new number system for the brokerages. Unless you know all the brokerage numbers, there is no way to gather that information when reviewing listings daily from my dashboard connections.

    You do not currently owe any TREND fees. Also, we do not keep your credit card information on file. The next semi-annual billing will be coming in April at which time we will have the new payment portal. At that time you will receive instructions on paying your bill.
