    Recent Updates to the MLS

We have updated the MLS to the latest version of the Matrix platform, part of our preparations to transition to Bright. With this latest update, there were some small changes that we wanted to make you aware of.

    Changes to the Map

When you access the map in the MLS to perform searches, you may notice the following changes:
    • Removal of Bird’s Eye: Bing Maps Bird's Eye View was on average 5 years old or more. And so, many properties were missing: new construction, exterior renovations, and even whole developments. With this in mind, the view was removed from the Matrix platform. Within the MLS you still have the ability to view property lines on a map or from an aerial view. You also have the ability to see an aerial view of property lines and school districts with the Homesnap Pro app, powered by Bright MLS. Don’t have Homesnap Pro? Get it today.

    • Tap-Tap-Tap to Draw Shapes on Touchscreens: If you draw shapes for map searches on your touchscreen devices, you will only be able to draw shapes using tap-tap-tap with the next release. You will no longer use tap and drag for drawing shapes on touchscreens.

    Auto Email Updates

    • Unsubscribe from emails will disable all Auto Emails: if a contact chooses to unsubscribe from your emails from TREND, all of the Auto Emails you have set up for them will automatically disable.

    • Disabled by System filter corrected: When viewing your Auto Emails, you can filter to see the ones that have been disabled by the system because your contact never clicked on the initial link.

It seems the "birdseye" needs to be replaced with something comparable. I always preferred to use the rotate and birdseye features.

I used the birds eye view heavily and want it back asap. I agree some of the areas were not up to date, but more were than were not. What can we do to bring this feature back?

How about proposing the changes to the users prior to doing so. Birds eye view isn't just for the dwelling it also shows the exterior influences like a gas station, school, or highway. The reasoning to remove it is poor at best.

The internet explorer issue has been going on too long - are you aware that The Help Desk is recommending using Mozilla/Firefox? In Firefox you can't view tax maps. The listing export feature does not give the option to save as.

    Steve,

Thank you for the additional information. It does appear that the ruler is not working as it should. I have reported it to our team.

At the bottom left is a little icon that says ruler. When you click on it the pointer changes to a crosshair. When it worked, previously, you could click a point on the map and draw a line which would measure how many feet/miles. I would use it to see distance to a school or whatever.

    Steve,

What ruler are you referring to? The scale ruler in the bottom right of the map?

    Brett,

There were no changes to the width of that column nor to the number of characters that are displayed.

    Perry & Robert,

The rotation ability was part of the bird's eye view map layer. With the removal of that also comes the removal of the ability to rotate the map.

There are no plans at this time for that feature to be restored.

any field formatting changes that we should be aware of? this is needed for data export / processing; for instance - I noticed that the zoning field is now 10 total characters (with spaces) - even if just "RMX-1" is shown... please advise - thx!

The new maps are crisp and updated. However it looks like the ability to rotate the view is no longer an option. Can this be returned as an option?
