Why did we form Bright, and how does it benefit you?

Current MLS boundaries no longer provide what’s needed to conduct business. Your clients are searching, traveling and moving to areas that may be just outside of your MLS area. You need access to the same listings in the same markets, from a geography that reaches beyond the coverage area of your MLS.

These boundaries can also be technological. The MLSs of yesterday haven’t innovated the way other data and websites have, and you deserve an MLS that provides access to cutting-edge products and a greater depth of information to make you better prepared to meet the needs of customers.

MLS consolidation will save time and money from more subscribers being on one system, paying one fee, following one set of rules, and needing one data feed to run their businesses successfully.

    That’s where Bright comes in.

    Bright Benefits for All

For Bright subscribers who belong to multiple MLSs, the benefits of the new MLS are apparent. You will save money and time by having to subscribe to fewer MLSs and entering your listings once. But what if you aren’t located on the border of a county or don’t belong to multiple MLSs? What if you only use one MLS system today? Bright MLS will still benefit you by providing:
    • More Listings for Your Clients: Sites like Zillow, Trulia and realtor.com provide information for listings nationwide. If you’ve ever had to explain to a buyer why you don’t have information about a listing that is nearby but still listing outside of your MLS, you’ve seen firsthand how this puts you at a disadvantage. With Bright, you’ll have access to listings similar to what consumers have, so you’ll be better positioned to share listing information for the areas where your clients want to be.
    • Increased Marketing Reach: With 85,000 subscribers, your listings will get a turbo boost of exposure through one site to reach more buyers who may be interested in your seller’s property.
    • Local Information and Improved Service: Bright will offer local information and customization to make the MLS work for you, such as listing fields suited to particular markets (ex: separate property type for farms, assigned/deeded parking used in some cities, or a waterfront field). Bright also offers Customer Support 7-day a week (because real estate doesn’t rest on weekends!), from local and knowledgeable staff.
    • Products Beyond standard MLS and Public Records: A larger organization can deliver deeper information, offer products beyond just basic MLS and Public Records search and reports included in the base price, all of which keeps you a step ahead of the consumer. Some of these include robust property information and big data analytics. Or access to new optional products that you can choose to purchase to provide a superior level of service and information.

At the heart of it all, Bright wants to empower everyone to get more out of the MLS. We’re excited for the opportunity to work with you and show what we (you and Bright) can do when we work together.

I am on the Bright MLS several times each day. I LOVE IT. It works great. Does exactly what I need and then some. Keep up the good work. I'm anxiously looking forward to the new data entry functionality which I hope is coming soon.

Since the migration began to Bright, there have been so many issues. I am especially unhappy that we cannot access FIND anymore. This was extremely helpful. Todate, I have not seen an answer. I even called about it and got no answer. If you raise my fees, at least answer the questions and concern of your members! Thank you.

The MLS areas added did not help me at all. Perhaps a survey ahead of time, and in the future, before more changes that "benefit" us all are implemented, perhaps we could be consulted.

Bright has no benefit to me except for higher fees and terrible service. Even since the changes, there is a daily functionality issue.

lets get back to basics and make the thing work.

HI as a long time appraiser in PA and NJ if Bright could consolidate with South Jersey and Garden State Mls that would be great ALSO I paid for an entire year not just six months last billing period because I travel a lot (kindly check) please also as long as we could pay in addition to quarterly /annually that would be a benefit to me thanks Dan Yizzi

Why do we not have access to FIND?

Very disappointed that Bright was not able to strike deals with Middlesex (aka Central Jersey MLS), Garden State, or Monmouth/Ocean. In the Princeton area, you still have to belong to all four of these completely different MLS systems to do your job. I can't use ANY of the new areas being added to Bright, but I'm DESPERATE to stop paying for Somerset, Hunterdon, Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties. This is more money for nothing for me. If your goal is what you say it is, this should have been a TOP priority.

I have read numerous comments/questions on a variety of Trend posts, however, do not see any responses/answers from Trend. How do I view the responses/answers that may or may not have not been explained by Trend? I wonder/question a lot of the comments made & seeing no answers or explanations from Trend is not helping anyone understand. Am I missing something or a "how to" section? Kindly advise and Thank you. Elaine Woerner

This made perfect sense after Trulia/Zillow tried their ridiculous push to be their own MLS. It may only be phase one of an over all plan to also become a non-licensed brokerage offering to put buyers and sellers together for flat fees without the need for agents like us. This may be the future of real estate some day but I don't understand why the large companies, like my own, continue to pay truzillow to put our listings on their site when their over all goal is to put all of us out of business?
As for increased costs with Trend? Unfortunately it is inevitable that some costs go up. At least Trend or Bright MLS continues to work for the agent and to offer more value and more bang for the buck! I only have one negative for Trend. I would like them to do more about getting ALL the listing agents to fill out the listing completely. One glitch there seems to be in the search criteria is that if your search is too refined you will not see a listing because the agent left off a vital stat. Conversely, if you leave off a stat that the listing does have you may not see listing come up. I end up doing the most general of search's to try and get the houses I want but, end up going through too many I do not want. So many of the great features you build into your system just will not work if the listing agents do not fill out the information. I don't know what the answer is, but I would love to use your system the way it was meant to be used.

I understand the financial benefit to those who previously had to join several MLSs. Frankly, unless and until we ever get a national MLS (not that I want that), some agents are always going to have to conduct business across MLS boundaries just as those who feel the need to be licensed in multiple states.

However, that was NOT my case and I was quite happy with Trend and am wondering why my fee went up? Quick math makes it appear that many of us are paying more so others don't have to and that sounds like socialism??? Extreme analogy meant to be humorous but still a serious question.
