    Why did we form Bright, and how does it benefit you?

    Current MLS boundaries no longer provide what’s needed to conduct business. Your clients are searching, traveling and moving to areas that may be just outside of your MLS area. You need access to the same listings in the same markets, from a geography that reaches beyond the coverage area of your MLS.

    These boundaries can also be technological. The MLSs of yesterday haven’t innovated the way other data and websites have, and you deserve an MLS that provides access to cutting-edge products and a greater depth of information to make you better prepared to meet the needs of customers.

    MLS consolidation will save time and money from more subscribers being on one system, paying one fee, following one set of rules, and needing one data feed to run their businesses successfully.

    I have read numerous comments/questions on a variety of Trend posts, however, do not see any responses/answers from Trend. How do I view the responses/answers that may or may not have not been explained by Trend? I wonder/question a lot of the comments made & seeing no answers or explanations from Trend is not helping anyone understand. Am I missing something or a "how to" section? Kindly advise and Thank you. Elaine Woerner

    This made perfect sense after Trulia/Zillow tried their ridiculous push to be their own MLS. It may only be phase one of an over all plan to also become a non-licensed brokerage offering to put buyers and sellers together for flat fees without the need for agents like us. This may be the future of real estate some day but I don't understand why the large companies, like my own, continue to pay truzillow to put our listings on their site when their over all goal is to put all of us out of business?
    As for increased costs with Trend? Unfortunately it is inevitable that some costs go up. At least Trend or Bright MLS continues to work for the agent and to offer more value and more bang for the buck! I only have one negative for Trend. I would like them to do more about getting ALL the listing agents to fill out the listing completely. One glitch there seems to be in the search criteria is that if your search is too refined you will not see a listing because the agent left off a vital stat. Conversely, if you leave off a stat that the listing does have you may not see listing come up. I end up doing the most general of search's to try and get the houses I want but, end up going through too many I do not want. So many of the great features you build into your system just will not work if the listing agents do not fill out the information. I don't know what the answer is, but I would love to use your system the way it was meant to be used.

    I understand the financial benefit to those who previously had to join several MLSs. Frankly, unless and until we ever get a national MLS (not that I want that), some agents are always going to have to conduct business across MLS boundaries just as those who feel the need to be licensed in multiple states.

    However, that was NOT my case and I was quite happy with Trend and am wondering why my fee went up? Quick math makes it appear that many of us are paying more so others don't have to and that sounds like socialism??? Extreme analogy meant to be humorous but still a serious question.
